Ms. Yvonne Kariuki, a Tutorial Fellow at the Department of Mathematics has successfully secured a 3 year DAAD scholarship in a competitive process that involved prospective Doctor of Philosophy candidates across the globe. The candidate who is also a Ph.D student at Moi University is a scholar in pure mathematics and an alumnus of Kibabii University at both undergraduate and masters levels. In a strong merit-centric evaluation, Ms. Kariuki prevailed over many other candidates to demonstrate high level competencies characteristic of Kibabii University graduates. The in-country scholarship will fund her Doctor of Philosophy studies in Pure Mathematics within the prescribed period of study. Department of Mathematics is at the forefront in mentoring future scholars, researchers and leaders from humble beginnings to greater heights.
