Abstract

We have reflected on the ratio of specific heat and temperature (γorCel) of selected electron and hole doped highTccuprates. The electronic specific heat rises slowly and there is a sudden drop at the critical temperature and then it gradually decreases for temperatures above TC. The behavior of electronic specific heat below TC is in good agreement with the BCS result for d-wave superconductor. The electronic contribution to the total specific heat of these materials is less than 1 %.The relevance to high-Tc superconductivity in the cupratesis discussed.
