Application for Admission – July 2021 Intake (New Programmes)

Kibabii University wishes to invite applications for admission to the listed Bachelor, Masters, and Doctor of Philosophy programmes via the Blended (face to face/e-Learning) modes of study as follows:

PROGRAMME
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
COURSE DURATION & MODE OF STUDY
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Nursing (Direct Entry)
Mean Grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE with C+ (plus) in English or Kiswahili, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics. Or C+ in Biological Sciences, English, Mathematics/ Physical Sciences. Or 2 principal passes in Biology and Chemistry with a subsidiary pass  in Physics or Mathematics

 

–  4 Academic years

–  Blended (Face to Face/e-Learning)

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science
–     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, of at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) of Kibabii University, or an equivalent qualification from any other institution recognized by Senate. In addition, prospective students MUST demonstrate proficiency in one of the C family of languages such as C, C++, Java, C# etc. OR

–     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, of at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) of Kibabii University or an equivalent qualification from any other institution recognized by Senate plus at least two years relevant experience, or an equivalent qualification from another institution recognized by Senate. In addition, prospective students MUST demonstrate proficiency in one of the C family of languages such as C, C++, Java, C# etc.

 

–  2 Academic years (4 semesters)

–  Blended (Face to Face/e-Learning)

Master of Arts (M.A.) in Kiswahili Studies

OPTIONS:

–     Kiswahili Linguistics

–     Kiswahili Literature

 

–     Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from Kibabii University or an equivalent qualification from any other accredited institution recognized by Kibabii University Senate OR

–     Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts degree with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) from Kibabii University or an equivalent qualification from any other accredited institution recognized by Kibabii University Senate with at least 2 years relevant post qualification experience.

–     Must have taken Kiswahili as one of the subjects in the first degree.

 

–  2 Academic years (4 semesters)

–  Blended (Face to Face/e-Learning)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Kiswahili Studies

OPTIONS:

–     Kiswahili Linguistics

–     Kiswahili Literature

–     Kiswahili Education

 

–     Master’s Degree either in: Kiswahili Linguistics, Kiswahili Literature or Kiswahili Education from Kibabii University or any other accredited institution recognized by the Senate of Kibabii University.

–     Applicants wishing to take the PhD in Kiswahili Education option must have taken Kiswahili Education at Masters level and must have a Bachelor of Education or a Post graduate Diploma in Education.

–     Must have taken Kiswahili as one of the subjects in the first degree.

–  3 Academic years (6 semesters)

–  Blended (Face to Face/e-Learning)
