Joint Computing Sessions at the Faculty of Science

Departments of the Faculty of Science have embraced “team learning” of practical sessions to optimize the scientific computing infrastructure at Department of Mathematics. The Scientific Computing Laboratory at the Department is one of its kind with state of the art computers and software for scientific and Engineering Applications. The collaborative initiative to share scientific infrastructure has been realized within the Departments of Mathematics; Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (AVS) and Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) headed by Dr. Vincent Marani, Dr. Jonathan Mutonyi and Dr. John Makokha respectively. Speaking during one of the sessions, Dr. Marani encouraged “shared technology” as a mutual learning concept that can be adopted by Departments within the University to save costs.
